Battery company sets up first UK office

InoBat has selected the Warwick Innovation Centre to host its first UK office.

The company, which specializes in designing, developing, and producing high-tech battery cells for battery electric vehicles (BEVs), is headquartered in Slovakia but intends to grow its European and UK operations, as well as reach out to the South Asian and American markets.

InoBat’s CFO, Paul Hancock, said the company was tremendously happy to be launching its initial UK office, with it especially making sense to be in the Midlands where the automotive sector is very strong. He also said:

“Warwick Innovation Centre provides us with a central location, with tier one original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) JLR, Rolls Royce, Arrival and Lotus as well as a number of other key industry businesses located nearby, and we will benefit from the region’s strong supply chains.”

Hancock also said the company had a variety of innovative and excited projects in the pipeline that would require it to expand and set up gigafactories. With traditionally-fuelled vehicles to be no longer produced from 2030, the domestic production of batteries is regarded as being important for supporting the industry’s shift towards producing BEVs.

The energy transition looks set to revolutionise the UK’s automotive and wider manufacturing sectors. If your operations are also changing, make sure you don’t forget the lubricants.
